Zustand und Haltung
Das Wesentliche in Bettina Meyers Werk ist das Spannungsverhältnis von Bewegung und Statik. Aus dem Fundus von unbewußt-bewußt anwesenden Formen und der Formgeschichte werden neue Variationen intuitiv entwickelt und zu einem spannungsvollen kompositorischen Einklang transformiert. Dabei begeistert die meditative Kontemplation, welche durch ausgewogene Proportion, Form und Oberfläche entsteht. Bewegung wird eingefroren, ins Momenthafte überführt. Innere Bezüge, Spannungen und Haltungen finden ihren Ausdruck in Meyers hoch ästhetischen Skulpturen. Sie strahlen eine einmalige Ruhe aus, welche den Betrachter in seinen Bann zieht. Eine künstlerische Verwandschaft mit Bettina Meyers Werken läßt sich unbestritten bei Henri Laurens, Germaine Richier und Otto Freundlich finden. In der Ausstellung „Zustand und Haltung“ wird die Vielfalt in Bettina Meyers Schaffen gezeigt. Von Zeichnungen über kleine bis hin zu großen (Bronze-) Skulpturen werden typische und aktuelle Werke ausgewählt. Condition and Attitude The bare essentials in the work of Bettina Meyer is to stress the ratio of movement and the static. Out of the pool of unconcious-concious attending forms, and the history of forms, she develops new alternatives in a intuitive way and transforms t hem to a contrary but harmonically unison composition. Thereby, the meditative contemplation delights, which occurs through balanced proportions, forms and surfaces. Movement gets frozen, then melts into the current moment. Inward coherence, tensions and attitudes find their expression at the highly aestetical sculptures of Bettina Meyer. They radiate a unique quietness, which casts a spell over the viewer. Undeniably, there is an artistic relation between the artwork of Bettina Meyer and the work of Henri Laurens, Germaine Richier and Otto Freundlich. In the exhibition „Condition and Attitude“ the diversity inside the oeuvre of Bettina Meyer will be shown.
